Isn’t the Googik Track a wonderful asset for Port Macquarie? Riding it is good for the body, mind and soul! Apart from being healthy, relaxing and fun, it’s also a safe and handy route for cyclists of all ages between home and work, school and town….. well not really to town.

There is a safe way to go from Lake Road and to town on bike, however few people know about it and some small sections require upgrading from footpath to shared path. We’ve mapped out a proposal to link existing shared paths from the CBD to the Googik Track to create a Town to Googik Trail. This link track would open up 12 km of trails to tourists  and locals alike. We have submitted this proposal for funding to Council as part of their call for input to the their 2026-27 Operational Plan.
