DESCRIPTION:This week’s Sunday Ride is the Lighthouse-Crestwood Circuit (sealed)\nA ride on mostly quiet streets and shared pathways\, exploring the suburbs and parks around the Lighthouse area. Sealed surface on undulating roads with a few short but moderate hills. We will start and end at the Tacking Point Surf Lifesaving Club which has plenty of parking and the Coast Café at which to enjoy hard-won refreshments at the finish. We will be riding slowly\, enjoying our lovely environment and ensuring that nobody is left behind. \nStrava Route: click here (with menu options to ‘Export GPX’ file for your bicycle computer or ‘Print’ for a turn-by-turn cuesheet) \nRide Leader: Dale Howard \nWhere: Meet at the carpark at Tacking Point SLSC\, Lighthouse Beach\nWhen: Sunday 5th July\, 8.45 am for an 9.00 am start\nDistance : 21 km\nElevation: 276 m\nSurface: 10%Shared Paths\, 90% Bitumen\, a 2m dirt path you may wish to dismount for.\nCoffee: Coast Café\,\nBike: Road\, Mountain or Gravel Bike\nBring: Well maintained bike with a spare tube and helmet\, water\, snacks\, sunscreen and money for a coffee.\nFirst ride free\, however rides thereafter require joining Better by Bicycle for an\nannual fee of $25. DESCRIPTION:This workshop will cover: \n\nPre-ride safety checks\nChecking and replacing brake pads – rim and disk\nBrake adjustment and alignment – rim and disk\nDrive train inspection\nChecking of chain\, cassette and chain ring for wear\nHow to replace a tube/tyre\nHow to repair a punctured tube\nMinor headset adjustments and lever positioning\nWheels\, spokes and quick-release axles\nGeneral cleaning and lubrication\nWhat tools and spares to carry on your ride\n\nTo participate you need to be a financial member of Better By Bicycle. \nPlease note\, places are limited to 8 participants. This workshop is not suitable for e-bikes. A separate workshop will be offered for e-bikes in the future – stay tuned! \nOn the day you will need to bring your bike\, an Australian standards approved helmet\, clothes that can get dirty\, snacks and a sense of curiosity.
